A world-traveling herb, basil enhances Asian, Mediterranean, and Italian cuisines. This basil patio combo pulls together some of our favorite, easy-to-grow basil varieties in a convenient container. The basil plants will grow and produce well in the pot. You can also transplant the plants from this pot to the ground. With more room to spread, the plants may grow even larger.
Plants per person: 1 patio combo for fresh; 2 for fresh and freezing.
Secrets to Success »
Plant in spring after all danger of frost has passed. Remove flowers often to promote production of flavorful leaves. Fertilize with Bonnie Herb & Vegetable Plant Food.
Harvest and Use »
To harvest, cut about a third of the branch from the top, just above a new set of leaves. Harvest often to encourage new growth, but never remove all the leaves or cut to the woody stem. Rather than storing basil in a refrigerator, place it in a glass of water at room temperature. Freeze leaves in freezer bags or ice trays with water.
